Our residences
River Street (Rutland)
Common Ground Recovery launched our first peer-led, trauma-informed residence in November, 2025. Our first residence is a space designed to offer safety, dignity, and healing for individuals navigating recovery and reintegration.
The building that the residence occupies tells a story about resilience, hope, and innovation. Before being occupied by CGR, the property needed a significant amount of TLC. It got just that! Now, the building is renovated and has the capacity to provide a sober living opportunity for up to three individuals.
The River Street residence is currently certified as a level 1 residence by the Vermont Alliance for Recovery Residences.
We are proud of opening our first residence in Rutland. Our goal is for the River Street residence to set the tone and the example for level 1 residences around the state of Vermont. To learn more about VTARR and certification levels of recovery residences, please click here .
We are deeply engaged in fundraising and community partnership development. Our goal is to open up a network of homes that reflects CGR’s core values: emotional safety, ethical governance, and lived-experience leadership.
Our residences aim to provide more than shelter— they provide a sanctuary built on trust, transparency, and shared recovery. But we can’t do it alone.
help Build it
We are always looking for generous individuals who believe in rebuilding our communities and making Vermont a more equitable and inclusive place to live for everyone. Your support—whether financial, collaborative, or simply spreading the word—helps bring this vision to life.
If you believe in what we’re building, please consider making a donation today. Every contribution moves us closer to opening the doors of healing.
